Artisan Bread in Five is a collaborative site from Jeff Hertzberg, M.D. and Zoe Francois, both of whom are interested in healthy, real food that can be made from scratch in a hurry. The duo has written three cookbooks: Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day (2007), Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day (2009) and their recent release, Artisan Pizza and Flatbread in Five Minutes a Day (2011).

The site is a collection of recipes (Apple Strudel Bread looks delish!), contests, tips and promotional information, like the recent World Wide Pizza Party on Twitter in conjunction with the new pizza and flatbread book. Some of the recipes I’m looking to try soon are:

Cinnamon Rolls
Monkey Bread
• Previously mentioned Apple Strudel Bread

Francois also writes a separate blog entitled Zoe Bakes – also some great recipes there!

Check out the companion site http://www.breadin5minutes.com/ for a Pizza Margherita recipe and a YouTube video demonstration.

I love discovering new sources for recipes and tips, and blogs are just about the best places to find them – the content comes from everyday people who have a love of cooking, baking and blogging. One of the coolest sites I’ve found recently is Bake at 350.

Bake at 350 is mainly a cookie site with some great decorating ideas and awesome recipes that I need to try (like the Chocolate Cut-Out Cookies I’ll try as soon as I get my Darth Vader Cookie Cutter!). I’ve never been much for decorating cookies besides some frosting and some sprinkles – mostly due to time – but her cool cookies have inspired me…if only I didn’t have to work full-time…
Bake at 350 is also home to The University of Cookie, a companion video blog (vlog) of tutorials.

Here are a few of my favorite recent posts:
One-eyed, one-horned flying purple people eater (cookies) – because I like purple, and I like the song…don’t judge!
How (not) to blog – part of the Works for Me Wednesday series.
Deep “DARTH” Chocolate Cookies – feeding (literally) my Star Wars obsession.

Check out the blog here.
